Conner Jeweler’s History
Conner Jewelers is a part of a business heritage that dates back to 1848. The Conner family was one of the founding families in New Albany and the state of Indiana. The first U.S. Post Office in Indiana was in William Conner’s living room; one of the earliest banks as well as the first plywood company was founded by a Conner. For the past 50 years, the Conner name has been synonymous with superior quality jewelry. Charles Conner continued the legacy with the Conner Companies, which included the retail and repair shop, as well as a school for jewelers where students learn the fine art of repair and jewelry design to this day. Charles’ son, Bryan, has developed his own style and is taking his place as one of the top jewelers in the area. He has over 25 years of experience and is a Master Goldsmith.
Conner Custom Jewelers is primarily known for our custom jewelry! In addition to creating pieces for our local customers, we have done work for many local and nationally recognized celebrities. Bryan and Charles created a broach for Secretary of State Hilary Clinton when she first ran for Senate. And since 2010, we have participated in StyleIcon’s Celebrity Gifting Suite for the Kentucky Derby, where we created pieces for many celebrities including Kate Gosselin, Boyz II Men, and Cincinnati Bengals’ Frostee Rucker, just to name a few.
